A powerful display by Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne helped Australia beat India by 9 wickets in the third Test in Indore.
Chasing 76 on Day 3, Australia started on a dreadful note losing Usman Khawaja for 0. However, Head and Labuschagne kept things slow initially before going all blaze against India's spin duo Ashwin and Jadeja. Head scored an unbeaten 49 off 53 balls, which featured six boundaries and one maximum. Labuschagne scored 28*, which also included six fours. The win also saw Australia draw first blood in the ongoing edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, having lost the opening two encounters in Nagpur and Delhi, which were also wrapped inside three days. The match started with India winning the toss and opting to bat. However, the move backfired as India were all-out for 109, following which Australia piled 197 and took a healthy 88-run lead. India then managed 163 in the second innings, leaving Australia with a relatively easy chase.
